Call for impartial inquiry into recent power outages

Must read

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Senior Electrical Engineers’ Association yesterday called on the Government to conduct an impartial inquiry into the recent power outages in the country.

Representatives of the Association stated at a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday (06) that there is suspicion that an invisible hand was behind the breakdown as the entire power system had collapsed.

The organization pointed out that if it is an act of sabotage and if it continues, the country’s economy as well as National Security could be severely affected.

The senior engineers stated that it was highly suspicious how the total power system collapsed at the same time when the engineers were on a work-to-rule campaign. The engineers said an impartial inquiry should be conducted immediately.
