The Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath today advised the Provincial Ayurvedic Commissioner to convert all Ayurvedic hospitals in the Province as COVID treatment centres with immediate effect.
It is to allocate 283 Ayurvedic emergency treatment beds for COVID patients, the Governor said.
Accordingly, 50 beds of them Kappalthurai Ayurvedic hospital in Trincomalee, 48 beds in Nilaveli Ayurvedic hospital, 60 beds from Puthukudiyiruppu hospital in Batticoloa, 30 beds from Eravur hospital, 30 beds from Weragoda hospital in Ampara district, 30 beds from Nintavur hospital and 30 beds from Adalachchenai hospital had been allocated for emergency COVID patients.
