A school attendance rate of over 80 percent will be made compulsory for students sitting G.C.E. Advanced Level examination from the year 2023 onwards, the Education Ministry sources said yesterday.
Education Secretary’s letter bearing number ED/09/Ads (SA)/7 dated 12.08.2022, it was informed that it is not compulsory to confirm 80 percent attendance only for students appearing for the AL examination in 2022. Accordingly, the said exemption was only for 2022 and from the year 2023 onwards school attendance of 60 percent is compulsory for students appearing for the GCE Advanced Level examination, the ministry in a statement said.
