Navy seizes another heroin

The foreign fishing vessel held with heroin valued at over Rs. 2,509 million street value and six foreigners aboard were brought ashore to the Colombo Port yesterday (15) morning by the Navy. A special operation by the Navy in international waters south of Sri Lanka recently, led to intercept a fishing vessel of foreign origin carrying about 250kg and 996g (including packages) of heroin with six suspects.Defence Secretary, General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne and Navy Commander Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne were also present at the Colombo port to inspect the apprehended haul of narcotics.
