Opposition Leader says not satisfied with Interim Budget

Must read

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa stated that he is not content with the Interim Budget 2022 presented by the government.

Premadasa made this observation at the parliament premises yesterday (30).

Premadasa said that there is a contradiction between the UNICEF organization statistics and the budget statistics about the families in Sri Lanka who are in need.

“We cannot agree with the number of people drastically affected by the economic crisis mentioned in the budget speech. “Because if you read the UNICEF report, you will realize the real number of mothers, children and girls who have become victims of the crisis is much larger than the numbers read out today.

According to the interim budget speech, only 61,000 families are drastically affected by the economic crisis.

“We cannot agree on these numbers. In addition, we believe that the government can do a better job in managing the government revenue. So all in all, we are not satisfied with this budget proposals,” Premadasa said.
