Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday and is self isolating at home.

Health minister Faisal Sultan announced on Twitter.

Prime Minister Khan, 67, had received the first shot of vaccination against COVID-19 on March 18 and had urged the citizens of his country to ensure the full implementation of norms to prevent the surge in cases of coronavirus.

Pakistan on Thursday also imposed smart lockdowns in areas worst hit by the coronavirus as the country recorded a sharp increase in the positive cases.
