Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said in Parliament yesterday (25) that spoken English training with activities will be started from Grade One from next year.
Minister Premajayantha said that the era of transformation of education will start from the first quarter of next year and mentioned that 13,000 teachers will be trained to implement this programme.
He said that the British Council and other institutions are helping in this purpose and that the necessary work books have been completed.
Minister Premajayantha added that a programme for pre-childhood will also be handed over to the ministry.The Minister of Education stated this when the business of the House commenced.
