Intelligence agencies have received information that a team of lawyers including a President’s Counsel has gone to Dubai to free Nandun Chinthaka alias Harak Kata, who is in Police custody in Dubai, without being handed over to Sri Lanka.
Sources said that the group consists of five lawyers. A CID officer said that they are expected to stay in Dubai for one week and file an appeal in a Dubai Court to ensure his release
“They are making a great effort to save him. They have received a lot of money. We are also doing our best from our side,” the CID official said.
The official added that the file regarding the criminal charges against Harak Kata has been forwarded to the Dubai authorities.
