Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) high-ranking officials yesterday had a cordial meeting with the Tri-Forces and Police CC to discuss the shortcomings and reached a common goal to take rugby forward in the country.
SLR President Rizly Illyas stated that the Tri-Forces and the Police SC have contributed not only towards rugby but towards all sports in the country.
Out of the eight ‘A’ Division rugby clubs four of them are of Tri-Forces and Police SC. SLR would soon discuss with World Rugby (WR) in bringing about some foreign coaches and trainers to support them.
SLR President Illyas stated that the meeting with Kamal Gunaratne, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence ended up very positively and the Tri-Forces and Police SC would support SLR with all upcoming tournaments.
