Zimbabwe against any resolution against Sri Lanka

Zimbabwe has emphasized that there is no reason to submit a report to the International Human Rights Council regarding the human rights situation in Sri Lanka.

Zimbabwe’s Permanent Representative in Geneva Stuart Harold Comberbach stated that his country will stand with Sri Lanka and oppose any move against Sri Lanka at the Council.

He has pointed out that the resolution against Sri Lanka has not been prepared based on the country’s wishes, and that it does not provide any support for the work of the Council regarding the promotion and protection of human rights. The representative of Zimbabwe, who has indicated that the conflict that plagued Sri Lanka for more than 30 years has ended. He has stated that there is no reason to keep the relevant resolution on the agenda of the Council.
