There is a need to prevent the emergence of terrorists through Islamic extremism and the government must take meticulous and expeditious actions in the same way that LTTE terrorism was wiped out from the country, the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) organization said.
While sending a letter to the President regarding conspiracies and extremist influence to weaken national security, BBS General Secretary Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera requested to identify those who are involved in spreading extremist ideologies in the country.
Also, mentioned taking immediate action to take legal action against them.
“The Easter Sunday attack on innocent civilians in the name of Islam has now become a political ball. Global politics is now creeping into it. It does not appear to be any scrutiny of the ‘Murderous Teachings and Murder Theories’ that led to the attack. It is also being observed that the Easter Sunday attack is being used in a planned manner to create instability in the country as well as by using certain forces, including religious leaders, knowingly or unknowingly,” the letter to the President said.
The BBS has pointed out in its letter that the country is in danger of launching extremist attacks such as the Easter Sunday attack, which infiltrates through very small security gaps.
