Distribution of gift packs donated by China Charity Federation to needy Dhamma school students of Sri Lanka, through Sri Lanka China Buddhist Friendship Association was commenced by the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Qi Zhenhong, with the participation of the Chief Incumbent of Sri Gauthama Viharaya at Narahenpita, Ven Omalpe Sumanarathana Thera, at a simple ceremony held on Sunday, December 12, 2021.
China Charity Foundation made available 2,500 gift packs consisting of a crayon set, Tiger balm, school bag, drawing books and face masks to assist the children to overcome mental trauma faced due to COVID-19 pandemic in Sri Lanka.

On the same day gift packs were distributed by Sri Lanka China Buddhist Friendship Association to children at Sri Vijayanandanaramaya, Rathmaldeniya, Pannipitiya organized by Ven. Dr. Pidaligannawela Panchaseeha Thera, the chief incumbent of the temple.
