United National Party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday said that the youth of the country should be protected as the main national resource in the country is human resources.
He stated this at a discussion held with a group of youths on Zoom technology yesterday (13).
He pointed out that the youth are lining up to leave the country today and that the problem in the country is the lack of dollars. He emphasized that the national resource of the country should be protected by obtaining support of the IMF.
Wickremesinghe recalled during his tenure, he had increased the salaries of public servants and developed the economy with the assistance of the IMF and questioned why the government is hesitating to seek IMF for support at this difficult juncture.
