Must read

The Ministry of Health states that the number of COVID-19 cases reported daily from Sri Lanka has decreased after a period of one and a half months.

“Although the number of daily infections reported in Sri Lanka over the past few days is over 2,000, only 1,941 cases have been reported from 25 districts in Sri Lanka on the 24th,” said Dr. Hemantha Herath, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health.

“It is noteworthy that the number of daily infections has dropped below the 2000 limit since May 08, with the highest number of cases being reported from the Gampaha District at 386,” the Ministry of Health said.

“The second highest number of infections is reported from the Colombo district with 261 cases and 252 cases were reported from the Kalutara district while 19,663 PCR tests were conducted in the country on the 24th and there is a decrease in the number of cases of COVID 19 infections,” said Dr. Herath.

However, he pointed out that no conclusion could be drawn at the moment that everything was under control and that there could be fluctuations.
