North Central Province Governor Mahipala Herath is visiting organic fertilizer producers in the province to encourage them in organic manure production.
“Every possible step will be taken to support organic fertilizer producers for them to increase their production,” the Governor said. The Governor along with Anuradhapura Government Agent Janaka Jayasundara and Chief Secretary Chandrasiri Bandara recently visited the Kalawewa Organic Fertilizer Suppliers (Pvt.) Company in Habarawaththa, Negampaha and inquired about the shortcomings that hinder their production.
Company owner C.N.K. Jayawardane said that farmers can meet the organic fertilizer requirement of the country. The Company has 70 employees at its fertilizer plant. The Governor inspected the cultivation at the site. He said that he will provide modern machinery for fertilizer processing and also provide solutions for their shortcomings.
