Police sources yesterday said that the necessary steps have been taken to bring underworld leader Nadun Chinthaka alias Harak Kata to the country soon.
He was arrested in a covert operation conducted by the Police Narcotics Bureau jointly with the Dubai Police at the Dubai airport
However, the Government has not been apprised of his arrest in Dubai officially yet.
The senior police officer said that even when Makadure Madushwa was arrested, the arrest was officially notified to Sri Lanka after several inquiries about it.
When Harak Kata was arrested at the airport, he posed as Herath Dissanayake’s Roshan Isanka who had died several years ago.
He is a resident of Meedigama and the passport has been prepared using the deceased’s birth certificate. According to the information received from Dubai, a law firm has filed facts to Court on behalf of Harak Kata and has taken preliminary steps to release him.
