A programme to manufacture organic fertilizer for 16 estates of the Janatha Estate Development Board began on Saturday in Hanthana Estate. Organic fertilizer required for those plantation estates, extending to a total of 3,800 hectares, will be produced within them, and 20 acres of Ginisiriya (Gliricidia sepium) will be cultivated in each of those estates to be used for making fertilizer.
