Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Dr. Harsha de Silva said if President Ranil Wickramesinghe needs to form a stable Government with all political parties in Parliament he should first reveal the details about his future development plans.
He said the exact time period to conduct a parliamentary election should be specified as people need a fresh election now to elect new members who could run the country at a stretch for at least five years. Addressing a press briefing Dr. de Silva said although several leading political party members met the President during the last few weeks and discussed about the steps that he is going to introduce for the benefit of economically affected people there is no positive response so far received from the President.
“Actually the President should reveal the political parties about the Government’s future economy development plans including the steps that he is going to resolve the current economic crisis the President’s response in this regard is not very clear,” he said.
Dr.de Silva said Government should always find the basic requirements of people and therefore the President should understand that people from all parts of the country at this moment need a new parliament with new members to bring a lasting solution to the country’s present economic crisis, so that even President Ranil Wickremesinghe too will be able to work with them to prosper the country’s economy and bring an economic relief to people.
