Must read

The Sri Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association has made a written request to the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission (SLHRC) to look into the illegal activities that are destabilizing the country and putting businesses into difficulties in the name of a struggle.

President of the Association Gemunu Wijeratne has informed in the letter that due to the continuous agitations and demonstrations, the roads are blocked and bus services in Colombo and the suburbs are severely affected.

He has requested the Human Rights Commission to do justice to all the people of the country by initiating action against such damaging agitations by groups claiming to be engaged in a struggle.

The letter states that the bus industry faced a difficult situation due to the wave of protests carried out by a group on May 9, 2022, and the bus owners and children are still suffering from it.
