SLRC incurs loss after CEB’s thunderbolt

Must read

The Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation has spent Rs.209,950 for the operation of diesel powered generators for the 5½ hours following the disconnection of power supply to the Corporation yesterday. An SLRC official said that the power supply to the Corporation was disconnected from 12.50 p.m. to 6.20p.m. due to non payment of November bill amounting Rs. 5.5 million.

He said that the money spent on generators could have been saved, if the CEB discussed this issue with the relevant authorities and reached a settlement.

SLRC had settled the October Electricity bill and it has received the December Bill on Wednesday.

One hundred and thirty liters of diesel are consumed per hour in the operation of the generator and seven hundred and fifteen liters of diesel have been consumed for five and a half hours.
