SSP injured in cracker explosion at home

A Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) has been seriously injured and admitted to the Colombo National Hospital after a triangle firecracker which he was planning to throw to chase away monkeys who were damaging crops in the garden, exploded in his hand.

The injured Senior Superintendent of Police J.R.Senadheera is the head of the STF camp in Gonahena. The Godakawela police stated that the accident happened on Monday morning (12th) when the officer was at his home in Godakawela Niyangama while on leave.

The police say that three fingers of the SSP’s left hand have been severely damaged. He was admitted to Colombo National Hospital after being admitted to Godakawela Hospital.
