All Teacher and Principal Unions have decided to boycott online teaching through Zoom technology from today in protest of police action against trade union activists including Union Secretary Joseph Stalin.
Addresing a presss conference in Anuradhapura yesterday, Union President Priyantha Fernando said all teachers in government schools will stop teaching online from today.
“All teachers who are deployed for filing online applications for GCE Advanced Level candidates will also stay away from their duties from today as a mark of protest against this police action,” he said.
Fernando said the Unions have already apprised the Education Ministry and the Examination Chief about the trade union action.
