Those who could not run a PS are clamouring to run the country – Prof. Ranjith Bandara

Must read

SLPP MP Prof. Ranjith Bandara questioned how a group of people who could not even run a Local Government office can take power and rule the country.

He stated this while attending the media conference held yesterday at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP)

party headquarters in Colombo. “Now some of our SLPP members, who left the party, are shedding crocodile tears about the 69 lakh mandate. But this 69 lakh mandate was destroyed by the people, who joined the helicopter. These people split into groups aiming at their personal agenda. Some of the party leaders, who formed the eleven party collective, went to parliament from our national list. It was those people who worked to destroy the party. Another group carry out their personal agendas pretending that they became independent,” he added.

He said that the SLPP is within a national political agenda.

Therefore, when taxes increase, electricity bills and commodity prices increase, the SLPP is ready to go before the public and try the mandate. The SLPP refuses to deceive people for these ideological practices.

“So let’s see the future political fate of these gangs. We are not worried. We as a party strongly believed in multi-party campaigning in every democratic opportunity,” he stressed.

He said the SLPP has presented ideal candidates to 254 Local Government bodies

“Therefore, those who joined together, should decide how to make a country through these individuals. How to take power and take the country forward? How can a group of people who could not control a local government, rule a government? Nobody is talking about the way the country is governed,” he added.
