‘Red Wings’ in Mattala

The Mattala International Airport yesterday commenced international operations after a lapse of two years with the arrival of a Boeing 777 aircraft of Russia’s Red Wings Airline with 412 passengers on board arrived at Mattala Airport yesterday morning. The Red Wings flight was welcomed with a water salute by two fire fighter trucks at MIA. Ports, Shipping and Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva was there to greet Russian tourists who arrived on this flight.

Airport and Aviation Services Sri Lanka Chairman Gen. G.A.Chandrasiri and several higher officials were in attendance.
